Welcome to Adria Calais Merkel Books, where passion meets the page!

My goal is to minimize trauma for my readers by being thoughtful in my storytelling. However, real narratives have real stakes.

I want to emphasize that I will never use sexual assault for shock value, nor will I depict it on page in my work. While some violence does exist in my stories, such as blood magic, (sacrifice) magical death, sharp and blunt trauma, and limited gun violence, I tend to limit it and make it mean something.

Sex is generally kept off the page. Minorly explicit scenes can be found in "London Calling" and "Witch Vs. Witch." there are no direct descriptions of genitalia in either.

"Lady Dreamscapes" addresses themes of executions, pregnancy, miscarriage, natural death, violent death, and burning to death. It also touches on suicidal ideation and drug use (mentioned but off-page).

I describe "Lady Dreamscapes" as “the coziest books to feature beheadings.” Our heroes tend to thrive and succeed, but they must still face challenges along the way. We may bury our friends and confront death, but ultimately, immortality is about understanding mortality.

Audiobook note: early Lady Dreamscapes books had some references to the works of a known author’s books about magical characters. These references no longer align with my brand. They have been removed from print and ebook editions. Audiobooks would require more work from the narrator to remove those. At this time those edits aren't feasible.

I hope this content guide is helpful but also spoiler free.
